Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) Registration

Every Trustico® branded SSL Certificate License and Certificate as a Service (CaaS) License carries a registered Global Trade Item Number (GTIN). The number is published in the structured data on each product page and carried on each product variant, and anyone can verify that it is genuinely a Trustico® product.

Who Registers the Numbers

The numbers are registered with GS1 by the representative of the Trustico® trademark owner. The trading name on the GS1 license record is TRUSTICO, so a lookup of any number returns the registrant under the trading name TRUSTICO.

Every Trustico® number sits under a single GS1 company prefix, 93634770.

The Structure of a Trustico® Number

Each Trustico® Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is thirteen digits, formed from the 93634770 company prefix, a four-digit item reference, and a final check digit. A number that claims to be a Trustico® product but does not begin with 93634770 is not one of ours.

As an example, 9363477000005 is the Trustico® Domain Validation (DV) Single Site SSL Certificate License, 12 Months.

What Carries a Number

A separate Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) covers each variant. This means every validity term, every domain count, and, on Certificate as a Service (CaaS) products, each order type, being a New Order or an Extension.

The registered numbers cover the Trustico® branded SSL Certificate Licenses and Certificate as a Service Licenses currently offered. They do not cover Prepaid Credit, the Webhost plans, Premium Installation, or Advanced Technical Assistance, and they do not cover any Sectigo® or PositiveSSL product, which belong to other brand owners.

Verifying a Number

Any Trustico® Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) can be checked through the Verified by GS1 service. A check confirms that the number is held under the trading name TRUSTICO by the trademark owner's representative, and that it is registered for that product.

Verification confirms who the number belongs to and which product it represents. It does not certify or endorse the product itself, because GS1 registers numbers rather than assessing products.

Using a Trustico® Number

A partner or corporate customer that lists a Trustico® product unchanged uses the Trustico® Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) for it, and no permission is needed. A different validity term, a bundle, or an altered or rebranded offering is a different product and needs its own number from the party creating it.

A Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) that has been used is never reused for another product, in line with GS1 rules in place since 1 January 2019. The numbers remain valid for as long as the GS1 license is in good standing.

Partners and corporate customers can request the full list of Trustico® numbers by contacting Trustico® through the usual channels.
